A lack of electrolytes may cause serious health problems.
API Aquarium Salt is made from evaporated sea water and provides these essential electrolytes.
BENEFITS: Provides essential electrolytes freshwater fish need to reach peak colouration and vitality. Improves gill function, reduces stress, facilitates osmoregulation and promotes disease recovery.
WHEN TO USE: Use when setting up a freshwater aquarium or fish bowl, changing water and treating fish disease.
Add 1 rounded tablespoon for every 20L of water or 1/2 a rounded teaspoon for every 4L of aquarium water.
NOTE: Aquarium salt does not evaporate and is not filtered out so it should only be added with each water change.
Care should be taken when using salt with live plants as some plants may be sensitive.
